Sculptra is a non-invasive, FDA-approved dermal filler injection that uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to reduce wrinkles and improve skin firmness and volume.
How it works:
Sculptra replaces lost collagen and stimulates the body to produce new collagen in the injected areas. This results in a gradual buildup of tissue that thickens the skin, softens features, and smooths out lines and wrinkles.
Procedure:
Your aesthetic nurse injects Sculptra into the skin, usually in a series of three treatments. The procedure typically takes 45–60 minutes and involves minimal discomfort and local anesthetic. Patients can usually return to normal activities the same day, but may experience slight swelling for 12–24 hours and a high risk of bruising for up to 7-10 days.
Results:
Most patients see a noticeable difference after about six weeks, but it can take up to 10 months for full results. The results can last 2–3 years.
Side effects:
Common side effects include swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, pain, bleeding, itching, and bumps at the injection site.
